Security on many levels: During manufacturing of KW Coilover suspensions, the highest quality materials are used to produce individual suspension solutions that enable customers to adjust vehicle height according to their wishes and needs. Within the TÜV-tested adjustment parameters, this can be easily achieved using the purple-colored aluminum spring collars by adjusting the position of the yellow coated springs upwards or downwards via a specially designed exterior thread. In doing so, the vehicle height can be precisely adjusted, and customers receive exactly the result they want and/or need. The stainless steel strut housings are fitted the specific vehicle, and are available in three different damping technologies. With this variety, KW Coilover suspensions in Variants 1, 2 and 3 can meet the exact requirements of every customer. The complete systems including high-quality yellow springs, purple aluminum components and Elastomer bump stops with integrated dust protection system, provide a unique comprehensive solution for a personalized vehicle suspension system that meets all performance and quality demands.

Rebound adjustment Variant 2+3
Rebound adjustment, with the exception of specified vehicles, can be performed with the kit installed via an adjustment spindle on the end of the piston rod. The rebound damping primarily, controls pitch and roll of the vehicle, especially in the low speed damping range which directly influences handling and comfort. Therefore vehicle can be adjusted to the needs of the driver, making the ride variable from comfortable to sporty and stiff, both with improved road handling. |

| Pressure adjustment Variant 3 |
The compression characteristics are adjusted utilizing a new, patented valve at the lower end of the damper casing. The number of pre-installable parameters available for this valve allow for settings for just about any application required. The unique low-speed pressure adjustment is the decisive feature of this technology. In this absorption area the handling of the vehicle is greatly infl uenced. An increase in the damping force supports the vehicle even during compression, thereby preventing pitch, roll and notably improving cornering behavior.

| KW Suspensions Sports Shock Absorber |
| |
KW suspensions sports shock absorbers are produced in cooperation with the major series manufacturer AL-KO, and meet all the requirements of a modern, high-performance shock absorber system. All KW sports shock absorbers are developed and tuned specifically for their intended use. KW engineers use all the knowledge they have gained from suspension development and motorsport in order to find the perfect tuning in extensive road testing.

The double-tube gas shock absorbers are generally equipped with hardened, chrome-plated piston rods, offering ideal protection against stone chips and corrosion. A new, innovative monoblock guide and seal package inccreases pressure resistance, reduces friction and hence promotes efficiency. The new, V-shaped shrink fit Teflon seals on the working pistons reduce to a minimum the losses due to friction, and guarantee an extremly temperature-resistant, durable shock absorber system. All KW sports shock absorbers are equipped with a rebound (shortened stroke), guaranteeing optimum stroke rations and ensuring that springs are pre-tensioned. A large proportion of the rear axle shock absorbers are equipped with spring plates that are adjustable by means of slots, enabling the height of the vehicle to be varied in 5 additional positions.
• characteristic curves specifi cally for the intended use
• expertise drawn from motor sport
• extensive road testing for optimum road-holding
• Results are implemented identically in the production process
• optimised working piston with V-shaped Teflon seals
• pressure resistant monoblock guide and seal package
• extremely low-friction and pressure resistant system
• high temperature-resistance and constant damping forces
• hardened, chrome-plated piston rods
• high-quality components, modern production processes and optimum quality control guarantee
reliability and durability
• shock absorbers with shortened stoke, in some cases with spring plates height-adjustable by means of slots

Decisions Take Time - Exactly 418 Hours !
In cooperation with the Technical University of Esslingen, a total of 9 products
from 6 different manufacturers were subjected to quality testing in December
of 2002 in the form of a salt spray durability test in accordance with DIN 50021 SS. The object of this testing was to compare corrosion resistance of the various systems under consideration of environmental influences such as salt water. During the test simulation of over 418 hours, the samples were inspected at regular intervals, whereby the corrosion resistance of piston rods and threaded struts were evaluated, as well as the adjustability of the aluminum spring collars.
Participants/Products:
KW „Inox-line“ Coilovers Variant 1, 2 and 3
KW Coilover struts Variant 2
5 competitor products with new, galvanized threaded struts
Evaluation:
2x very good KW „inox-line“ Variant 1 and Variant 3
1x good KW „inox-line“ Variant 2
2x moderately good competitor
1x moderate competitor
2x poor competitor
Test Result FH Esslingen:
KW inox-line coilovers with stainless steel technology are clearly superior to galvanized models with regard to corrosion resistance, and in addition, ensure smooth operation even after 418 hours.
Conclusion:
(Klaus Wohlfarth, Managing Director of KW automotive)
„These clear results have strengthened our resolve to concentrate on the quality of the product in the interest of our customers. In the future we will only offer KW Coilover suspension systems constructed in inox-line stainless steel technology.“
